I am a pediatric orthopedic and hand surgeon with a special interest in fractures, tendons, and nerve injuries as well as congenital differences.

I am also a professor of pediatric orthopedics and traumatology.

I have been part of the staff of Children’s Hospital in Helsinki since 2000.  

I am an active member of EPOS, PlexusNexus, and PHISOS.

 

I like teaching and maybe this was one of the reasons for Orthopedic registrars of the University of Helsinki to select me as the Senior of the year in 2011 and the Registrar Trainer of the year in 2013. I am also interested in clinical research and have so far supervised 7 doctoral thesis projects. Pediatric fracture treatment, congenital limb differences, and brachial plexus birth injury are the main fields of my research activities. 

 

I like to play tennis, golf, and ice hockey. Smoke sauna is one of my favourite ways to relax.
